Mental Health First Aid

The impact of mental health distress on staff can be considerable on the health of the whole organisation. By providing MHFA workshops the organisation not only demonstrates their commitment to supporting the mental health of their employees but also is helping to create a thriving environment.

This course is designed to educate managers and employees on how to spot if someone or themselves might be struggling with mental health and how to manage it.

MHFA raises knowledge and awareness, teaches how to listen, reassure, and respond, even in a crisis – and potentially stop a crisis from happening.

You’ll learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe.

Participants will leave with an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect mental wellbeing.

Public Speaking Confidence

Nailing a deal with a client, impressing in a Monday morning meeting, feeling great in a social situation, or delivering that speech/presentation requires specific confidence.

The National Institute of Mental Health reports that public speaking anxiety, or glossophobia, affects about 73% of the population. The underlying fear is judgment or negative evaluation by others. Public speaking anxiety is considered a social anxiety disorder.

In this workshop you will learn:

- How to activate your parasympathetic nervous system to instantly relax your body and mind.

- What makes us self-conscious and how to stop it (internal vs external focus)

- Identify what negative evaluation/ judgment we fear the most, face it and forever overcome it

- How to increase genuine confidence through mental visualisation, just the way professional athletes perfect their performance.

From Survival to Thriving Mode

In this workshop we help employees and employers move from the survival mode that stress and anxiety activates (fight, flight or freeze) to thriving state (problem solving, critical thinking and creativity).

This evidence-based stress and anxiety workshop focuses on the three SSS's: Spot, Stop and Swap.

Spot: We start with psychoeducation on anxiety and stress on how to spot when we are triggered and why emotions are important. Half the battle is done when we gain the skill to spot what is going on and how we are reacting and managing the situation/ person.

Stop: To stop the response of stress and anxiety we will learn how to use mindfulness and CBT tools to stop the unhelpful reaction to the trigger (difficult client, tight deadline, internal politics...)

Swap: Last but not least we focuses on swapping the old way of reacting to triggers, to a new more desired and helpful way of dealing with challenging situations/ individuals.
